After 19 years DMOZ is going to shutdown permanently

Sad news for SEO experts that top rated Open Directory Project’s web listing is going down on 14 March 2017 after enjoying luxury of top rated Directory for almost two decays. As Google new strategies apply every year so the impact of Directory submission is also losing it’s importance every year, hence webmasters lose their traffic instead of multiplying it.

First complain was registered in 1998 with website’s name as Gnu was used in it which later on changed from GnuHoo to NewHoo but Yahoo challenged the red letters of ‘Hoo’. After going through several controversies now website will no more be available to users.
